Hi, I'm Anthony, parent of Parent & Parent LLP. Today, I have a guest, Robert Hanssen, our lead international attorney. Hello, hello Robert! Today, we are talking about something that seems sort of ominous. You know, the news really didn't surprise me, but when I saw it, it surprised me. It's just been around for a while, and we've done so much of these. It's sort of part of us, right? The IRS announced the end of the Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program (OVDP) on September 28th, 2018. Robert, how surprised were you that this happened gradually and then suddenly? We all knew, everyone kind of knew. You know, when you do these for enough years, you know it's not gonna last forever. I mean, there's always been a voluntary disclosure set of procedures that the IRS has had, but this is the offshore found. I don't know if that was well. All the other ones ended. The 2009 one had a set end date. The 2011 one had a set end date. It was the 2012 one that sort of said, "Okay, we don't have any set end date, but we can edit at any time." Well, the first two were almost like trial runs, right? Like the beta of this. The 2012 version seemed to be one they were kind of happy with. They tweaked it in 2014. Some people in the IRS said, "Well, we had a new one in 2014 that was never... There was there was continuity." Yeah, because nine ended, 11 ended, 12 kind of just sort of morphed into some belts with some additions. So, not very surprising because they've had the program for voluntary disclosure for offshore stuff for close to ten years now. And I think if you are the person who needs an OVDP...
