The reason you might want to do this is that the task list is very feature-rich, with a lot of columns that may not be useful for end users. For example, in a help desk scenario, you may want the user to fill out just a few fields to keep it simple. These fields, such as predecessors and categorization, can be hidden from the end user. So, I'll be creating a simple end-user form that feeds into the task list. Let's start by creating a new workflow. I'll create a site workflow called "New User Task" using SharePoint 2013. I'll also add an initiation form that asks the user for a title and a description. The title will be a single line of text with a blank default value, while the description will be a multiple-line text field. Once the form is filled out, we'll have the parameters to work with. Now, I'll add the necessary actions to the workflow. I want to create a list item in the "Tasks" list and fill in the title and description of the task using workflow variables and parameters. The title will be taken from the "task title" parameter, and the description will be taken from the "description" parameter. After configuring the actions, I'll publish the workflow and go back to my site contents. From there, I'll find the site workflows and start the "New User Task" workflow.
